C2 Class Marking

EASA C2
EASA C2

The certification that allows you to fly in urban areas

Regulatory framework for professional operations

KUR-500 is a Class C2 marked UAS, fully compliant with the European EASA regulatory framework for the Open and Specific categories.

The C2 class marking defines a precise technical and operational perimeter: maximum take-off mass, system safety features, identification, and pilot competency requirements.

Within this framework, operators benefit from clear operational boundaries and a well-defined regulatory baseline, which is essential for planning professional missions across Europe.
Why C2 matters for professional users

Operating a Class C2 drone is not about expanding operational freedom without constraints, but about operating within a predictable and well-understood regulatory context.

For professional operators, this means:
  • Clear applicability in Open category (A2 subcategory)
Enabling operations close to uninvolved people, when conducted by appropriately licensed pilots and in compliance with defined safety distances

  • Reduced regulatory ambiguity
A C2-marked drone removes uncertainty around legacy or transitional regimes, ensuring long-term compliance under current and future EASA rules
  • Easier integration into risk assessments
The C2 classification provides a known and accepted technical baseline when declaring STS operations or preparing PDRA or SORA documentation

  • Consistency across European operations
One regulatory framework, one class marking, valid across EASA member states—simplifying multi-country projects and tenders
C2 and system-level predictability

While the C2 class marking defines what is allowed from a regulatory standpoint, KUR-500 goes further by addressing how reliably missions can be executed from a technical standpoint.

Thanks to extensive system-level testing and validation with selected industrial payloads, KUR-500 delivers:

  • predictable aircraft behavior

  • repeatable sensor performance

  • stable data acquisition conditions

This combination allows operators to build missions with clear expectations, lower technical uncertainty, and greater confidence during operational risk evaluations, whether in Open A2 or Specific category scenarios.
C2 defines the regulatory frame.

KUR-500 defines the system reliability within that frame.

Together, they enable professional operations that are compliant, predictable, and scalable.

Advanced
Mission Planning

The KUR-500 flight planning app is designed for professional inspection, mapping, technical aerial imaging tasks and aerial survey operations.

It enables advanced mission design through waypoints, with precise control over altitude, speed, trajectory and data acquisition parameters.

The integrated map view allows operators to plan, save and replicate complex flight missions, ensuring consistency, efficiency and data quality.
